Kestrel Cottage is set in a secluded location on a peaceful country lane, where the villages of Great Bedwyn and Crofton meet. You are close to Crofton Beam Engines, the Kennet & Avon Canal and Wilton Windmill and some really fabulous walks are right on your doorstep. The village of Great Bedwyn has a post office and a stores, as well as The Three Tuns pub. Just a couple of miles away is The Swan at Wilton which serves good food and local beers and ciders.
Kestrel Cottage is in an idyllic setting in the grounds of the owners’ house. Having an enclosed, garden around the cottage with a patio means you can sit outside and just enjoy the surrounding countryside – a lovely location for breakfast. As an added bonus, the three acre paddock next door to Kestrel Cottage provides you with plenty of space for ball games and other outdoor activities – it is also fully fenced so great for letting your dog have a run.
The accommodation is beautifully presented and well-equipped over two floors. Sleeping up to four, there is a double room with king-size bed and a twin-bedded room. The kitchen is fully fitted open plan with a dining table for four and there is also a large comfortable separate living room. Not only is there a bathroom upstairs with a corner bath, but also a shower room with power shower, WC and basin downstairs.
Dogs are very welcome by arrangement – just so the owners are aware.
The walk from the cottage up to Wilton and Bedwyn Brails and on to Wilton Windmill then back over the Roman Road is a definite favourite and right on your doorstep.
