Upavon Walk

This walk is from Natural England.

This permissive footpath links with existing Public Rights of Way and provides an attractive walk from Upavon to Upavon Hill. Here you can enjoy the views across the Vale of Pewsey and also see traces of terraces known as a strip lynchets produced by the pattern of cultivation in medieval or earlier times.

The surrounding arable land is being managed under Environmental Stewardship to benefit declining farmland birds such as lapwing, corn bunting and grey partridge.

Walkers are requested to keep dogs under close control, especially between April and July, as scarce ground-nesting birds are being encouraged to nest through the provision of field margins across the farm.
