Spring Study Series – The Middle Ages; not all Castles & Crude Living with Christopher Rogers

April 16th @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

£15.00 – £18.00

The Middle Ages was not all about castles and crude living. As England became a safer place to live, the defensive castle gave way to a more gracious style of living. Castles were modified to become grand palaces, but, at the same time there emerged purpose built manor houses where comfort was more important than defence.  This presentation will trace the growth of country house living in the Middle Ages and show how important spaces, such as the Great Hall and the Solar came into being.
