DRIVE IT DAY AT CROFTON BEAM ENGINES

Drive It Day was created by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs in 2005. For one day a year, historical enthusiasts and the public come together to celebrate classic cars. In 2021 the Federation Partnered with NSPCC’s Childline and Drive It Day has raised over £100,000 to help support vulnerable children and young people.

This year Crofton Beam Engines will be making Drive-It-Day drivers and their cars welcome to our site. Our main car park will be dedicated to cars who are taking part in Drive-It-Day. We will have Drive-It Day plaques for sale on the day, if you haven’t already got yours. Our ancillary car park will be open to other visitors to the site.

Some of our volunteers will be displaying their classic cars on site, including a fabulous Stanley Steam Car. If you are taking part in Drive-It-Day, Crofton will make a great place to stop; entrance for drivers is free.

Our site is open to the public as normal, so everyone is welcome to see our Grade I listed Engine House and Engines, as well as a display of classic cars.

We will be offering light refreshments at Crofton Beam Engines and if you require something more substantial there are several good cafes, pubs and restaurants in the area.
