A beautiful circular walk that takes about an hour or so. Starting from Wilton Windmill, you take the Roman Road at the top of which you can see the Industrial Revolution in the valley below – the railway, Crofton Beam Engines, the Kennet & Avon Canal and the Windmill – and all of it still works!
Coming down the lane, the canal and Crofton Beam Engines are in front you.
On your way back to Wilton, you will pass Wilton Water which is the reservoir for the Kennet & Avon Canal.
As you come out of the field from Wilton Water, you will have the pretty duck pond in front of you and just up the lane is The Swan Inn – for a well-deserved pint!
