Iona Hassan, a local Pewsey lady originally hailing from Scotland, is in the throes of setting a new Women's World Record - and is looking for sponsors. Already supported by Pewsey Velo, there are lots of opportunities to help Iona in her quest.
Iona is cycling around the world in stages to raise funds for a new classroom at Banda Hill Primary School, Malawi and also to support mental health facilities for young people in the North East of Scotland where she grew up. She has already completed the first leg which was from France to Italy last year. This year Iona will be heading over to Africa, then Nepal and Myanmar. The final stretch is across Australia and the USA in 2019.
She will be filming and blogging as along the way, stopping in at villages and chatting with local communities. Iona will be getting cycle jerseys and T shirts made early in 2018 and would like to have the sponsors and the charities on them. And this talented lady is also offering to talk at events, and, being a classical violist and folk musician, play for dinners, fundraisers and other events in return.
You can find out more details of how businesses can sponsor Iona here, as well as full details of the charities and Iona's plans.
