Help the Landscape Trust deliver their important conservation work in the North Wessex Downs
The North Wessex Downs Landscape Trust charity has launched its first online raffle.
Events, where important funds would normally be raised, haven’t been able to take place, so an online raffle seemed an appealing way to maintain this important work, especially with the impact of Covid-19 on businesses and commerce.
Chairman Donald Sherlock said, ‘These funds are vital to our conservation work and community projects through our Sustainable Development Fund. The raffle has just one prize incorporating some of the best of the North Wessex Downs – kindly donated by Ron Forbes at The Crown & Anchor in Ham, Crofton Beam Engines and Wilton Windmill. We urge anyone with an interest in this glorious part of the country to support us and buy tickets.’
You can find out more about the prize and buy your tickets at northwessexdownslt.rallyup.com/raffle.
The North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) stretches across parts of Wiltshire, Hampshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire, with areas of rolling chalk grassland, ancient woodlands, arable farmland, steep escarpments, downland hillsides and chalk river valleys - rich in habitats, wildlife and evidence of six thousand years of cultural heritage. This heritage is alive and active today with world-famous tourist attractions and scenery, busy market towns and some of England's most attractive and friendly village communities.
The Landscape Trust works to promote awareness of these treasures, encourage their enjoyment by both local people and visitors and secure their protection, enhancement and productive use for future generations.
