The accommodation comprises:
2 bedrooms (1 x twin with en-suite shower room, 1 x double with en-suite bathroom)
Well-equipped kitchen
Open plan living / dining room
Utility room

Dogs are allowed by arrangement.

Set in a peaceful and secluded location, with views across the fields, Stable Cottage is just off a no-through lane, so traffic is rarely heard – an ideal place to unwind and relax.

The cottage is extremely well situated at the heart of the North Wessex Downs National Landscape.  The area is criss-crossed with footpaths – some literally on the doorstep – perfect for dog walking.  You are within a mile or so of the Kennet & Avon Canal, offering lovely, level walking to east and west.  A longish walk or a short drive away are Crofton Beam Engines and Wilton Windmill – the Pewsey Vale Trail walk is easily accessible from Stable Cottage.  The Downs are visible to the south of Milton Lilbourne and these are the start of Salisbury Plain, so you really aren’t far away from some much more challenging walking if that is your interest.

Pewsey village is just two miles away, with the Pewsey Heritage Centre, a lively events calendar, cafes, restaurants and pubs, independent shops and other services on offer.  About 8 miles north is the historic town of Marlborough which has plenty of exclusive shops in its famous wide High Street.  A trip to the other end of the Pewsey Vale to the charming market town of Devizes is well worth doing, particularly as you will drive through and past some of the most magnificent downland en route (particularly at Alton Barnes – White Horse and Milk Hill).

A visit to Stonehenge and Avebury make a good day out from here, or a trip to Salisbury to see the Cathedral and the elegant and historic city centre.

Milton Lilbourne village is set off the B3087 road from Burbage to Pewsey.  It’s such a pretty name for a very pretty village – “Milton” is probably derived from its position as “middle tun” (a tun is a farmstead) between Pewsey to the west and Easton Royal (the “east tun”) to the east. “Lilbourne” is from Lillebonne, the surname of Lords of the Manor.
